December Theme Day: Action Shot: Photo Drive

This is me in action, shooting while driving!

December theme day is here again reminding us that the year is about to end. Generally, I spend the last month of the year looking back at what happened in my life, good as well as bad. The main aim of the exercise is to ensure I do not skip a lesson that life wanted to teach me. The year, tough as it was, taught me to keep going and look forward come what may. This year will be improtant for me for a lot of reasons two of them:

1. I bought my first DSLR camera.
2. I fell in love with the roads of Delhi once again.

How was your year?

October Theme Day: Mystery object: Bubbles

I have been fascinated with soap bubbles since I was a kid. It was mandatory for my parents to buy me a pack of soap bubbles along with the straw (bubble maker) that were being sold at India Gate. Even at the age of 28 I still think that the bubbles are the best gift someone can give me at India Gate.

The reason I chose bubbles as my post for the theme day is because they are mysterious. They are never the same size. They create a unique magic with light every time. They are free and love their freedom and enjoy it to the max even in their short life.

Moreover, one of my friends calls me bubbles :)

July Theme Day: The Colour Green: Green Delhi

Every city should have a favourite colour. I think, if Delhi was a person, her favourite colour would be green. The roads in Delhi show off beautiful shades of green, our buses are green and even our street lamps are green!

A beautiful green July to all of you!

June Theme Day: Under Construction: Incy Wincy Spider

This spider has been at work for almost a day now and from the looks of it, it is not done yet. The cobweb is still under construction.

Hope all of us have this spider's tenacity to complete what we have started i.e., the year 2011 in style! Happy mid-year to all of you!

Have a very special June!

April Theme Day: Edges: On the Edge of Time

My friend, Richa, decided to take a break from her morning walk and exercise to sit on the edge of this small window at one of the monuments in the Lodi Gardens.

It seems as though she is sitting on the edge of time and any minute will time travel into the future she is dreaming about :-)

Happy April everyone!

January Theme Day: Photo of the Year: Light and Shadow

It is once again the time of the year when photo bloggers from around the world showcase their photograph of the year gone by. I chose this photograph as the photograph of the yer 2010, because this was the first time I managed to print a photograph in the dark room. This photograph is a reminder that I need to learn one new thing this year as well. This photograph is a medal of pride as I did manage to achieve the target I had set for myself last year. This photograph is special :-)

Hope 2011 is special for everyone around the world and especially my friends in the blogosphere. Happy New Year!

October Theme Day: Graffiti: Soldiers of India

After the Allahabad High Court ruling yesterday on the allocation of the land in Ayodhaya, I thought this plack is the message that should be resounded across India.

It is in Hindi. It says, that India has four soldiers-Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians. On that note of unity, a happy October to everyone. May every religious confrontation across the world find a peaceful solution.

July Theme Day: Reflections: Where do you go?

My favourite pass time while stuck in traffic jams is to think what the person, whose reflection I am seeing in my rear-view mirror is thinking and where is he/she headed for. Keeping today's theme in mind, I present two reflections of the biker I had photographed during a recent traffic jam. The song that came to my mind while looking at this man had been, "Where do you go?"

Happy July everyone. With half the year gone, I guess it is time to reflect on the months that have passed. I'd say 'life has been good' in its many blessings. Please share your take of the last 6 months with me. I am all ears and smiles :-)

June Theme Day: Funny Signs: Office Humour

I think this sign is a very funny one, especially when tacked up on the office board. Yours truly has a wicked sense of humour and has put up this sign on her work-station. :-) A Happy June to all :-)

April Theme Day: Red: Horns

To welcome the month of April, CityDailyPhoto decided the theme as RED. I could think of nothing better but these RED devil's horns that are sold around the India Gate gardens. If you follow cricket, you would know that the Delhi DareDevils represent my city in the Indian Premier League. Most supporters wear these horns, which can be lit by pushing a small switch. I hope the month of April proves lucky for Delhi and the team fares well in the ongoing IPL.

Happy April!

February Theme Day: (Touch) Wood

It is time for February Theme Day: and this time the theme is Wood.
Here is a blast from the past. This is one of my closest friends, Gurneet and me almost hugging an artifact at India Habitat Centre. This is from our last outing before she got married and moved to Canada in January 2008. I vividly remember that after this photo we both had said in chorus: Touch Wood may we remain friends forever. :-)

A happy February everyone!

After a recession hit 2009, I think money and some change is the best way to usher in 2010, with wishes that may the economy strengthen manifold. A very Happy and Prosperous New Year to the members of the bloggersphere. :D

My Wishes for You in 2010

May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for $100 bills.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!
May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy
May the problems you had, forget your home address!
In simple words ............
May 2010 be the best year of your life!!!

Theme Day: Waiting: India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2009

I went to India International Trade Fair 2009 last week. There was too much to see and shop but very less time. While, I was waiting for a friend to join me, the battery of my mobile phone went kaput. So I managed to click just 2 photographs.

A robot was waiting to greet us at the Nippo stall.
And here are some coasters made from newspapers at the Sri Lankan stall.

October Theme Day: Contrast

I chose this particular photograph for today's theme, keeping the following definition of contrast in mind.

Contrast: The use of opposing elements, such as colors, forms, or lines, in proximity to produce an intensified effect in a work of art. 2. The difference in brightness between the light and dark areas of a picture, such as a photograph or video image.

You can see the North Block in the backdrop and the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the rear-view mirror.

Theme Day: Shadow: Friendship

A friendship so strong that even our shadows are inseparable. :-)

This is one of my favourite photographs ever as three of my most favourite people feature in this capture. On the left is one of the best people I have ever come across - Gurneet. She now lives in Calgary with her husband. On the right is a guy, who has the best sense of humour - Ashish, he is still in Delhi but work keeps us busy and we have not met in a very long time. In the centre is of course ME.

And I am one of my most favourite people. Lolz.

Have a happy May!
