Foot Over-bridge, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital

Delhi after rains invites me to take my camera out for a walk. Last evening I decided to not go too far as something interesting caught my eye nearby. I decided to explore the foot over-bridge near Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The bridge was built as a part of the preparations for the Commonwealth Games held last year.

The unit is swanky and the escalators installed are the main attraction. I was disappointed to find that the escalators are shut down on Sundays because of a low number of footfall. So I climbed the stairs.

Once I reached the bridge, I found these lamps fascinating. They reminded me of the Chinese hat that Po wore in Kung Fu Panda 2.

The bridge not only has escalators and regular steps but also elevators for the physically challenged. Not one to waste an opportunity of clicking a photograph of myself, I took this photograph on the shiny, rain-washed surface of the elevator (which was also shut down on the account of it being Sunday).

It was a sight to see lush green trees lining the roads while a slow but steady movement of cars kept the roads company.

I decided to pack my camera and go home for a cup of tea as the sun set behind the greenery of my beautiful Delhi!

Youth Festival: Central Park: Bharatnatayam Dancers

A college friend's command can never be ignored and abiding by the 'code' I drove across the mad traffic on the roads of Delhi to see my college friend Sowmya perform in the Youth Festival, currently going on in Central Park, Connaught Place. The traffic ensured that I reach the venue late after my photography class. But I did manage to see her graceful skills on this big screen.
After the performance, I ran to greet my friend and convinced her to pose for me off the stage. Like I said before, a college friend's command can never be ignored and so Sowmya obliged with a beautiful pose and an even prettier smile.

July Theme Day: Reflections: Where do you go?

My favourite pass time while stuck in traffic jams is to think what the person, whose reflection I am seeing in my rear-view mirror is thinking and where is he/she headed for. Keeping today's theme in mind, I present two reflections of the biker I had photographed during a recent traffic jam. The song that came to my mind while looking at this man had been, "Where do you go?"

Happy July everyone. With half the year gone, I guess it is time to reflect on the months that have passed. I'd say 'life has been good' in its many blessings. Please share your take of the last 6 months with me. I am all ears and smiles :-)

Foggy Morning

This is the view of the morning as I was struck in a massive jam on Friday, which began on a very foggy note but the traffic helped fight the fog.

Rain Drops

Living in a rain starved Delhi, I managed to capture some drops on the rear view mirror yesterday. The lights reflected by the drops are the headlights of numerous cars waiting behind me, stuck in a traffic jam.

Picture Perfect

A dramatic sky is always a treat for the eye and the camera. I loved the way the sun was looking just minutes before setting yesterday. It was a task to stop the car bang in the middle of the flyover and click the photograph amidst loud honking from the passengers behind me. But all the bad stares, the looks and the loud obnoxious horns... were all worth it.
