Butterflies in Lodi Garden

An article a few days back in the national daily, The Times of India inspired to wake up early this Sunday morning and head to the Lodi Gardens. The beautiful winged insects, squirrels, red trees, people exercising and cobwebs ensured that I clicked only  a few frames of the monuments.

 

Click walk at Lodi Gardens

I went for a click walk, after a long gap, last week. We went to Lodi Gardens. The slight nip in the air, the beautiful flowers, and nice blue skies welcomed my camera and me with a warmth that is hard to describe. I had a great time working with these photographs. I hope you like them as well.

After the rainstorm a few days ago, a part of this tree decided to park itself in the parking lot of the Lodi Gardens. I must say, the tree parked better than most of the drivers around.

Old and New

With my birthday just around the corner, this photograph holds a special meaning for me. Time to make the message (that I see here) the motto for the coming year. Bye to the old and usher in the new and better times with a splash of red!

Delhi Green Flirts with Yellow

The rains over the weekend gave Delhi a nice wash. The city is at its greenest best with a little yellow thrown in here and there.

Caught in the wind of past

This shade of past reminds me of the old Hindi suspense films. Stare at the photograph long enough and a mystery, caught in the wind of the past, will unfold to hold your attention.

Valley of Dreams

I am sure that this place--the valley between these trees--where colourful dreams are made. Every evening, the dream weavers choose the choicest of colours and create masterpieces. It is up to us to make the dream come true or just enjoy the break the dream gives us from the grind of life.

The fact is that with Delhi skies turning beautiful in the evening are a clear signal that October is round the corner, bringing with it the romance of autumn :-)

Lodi Gardens

I met a school friend of mine - Richa over the weekend. Work has taken her to the city of Mumbai and she terribly misses Delhi and is a regular Delhi Photo Diary visitor. We both decided that to enjoy Delhi in her Spring best, we must meet for a morning walk in Lodi Gardens. Trust me there is no better way to feel the fresh air, get a few good photos and share the lives two friends have lived over the last 4 years.

Beautiful flowers welcomed us.Soon the walk turned into an exploration as hints of history began to peek out from the shade of trees.

A few more steps took us to this majestic tomb.


The trees and fascinating play of light and shadow kept me entertained as I clicked a lot of photographs.


Meanwhile, Richa sat pretty dreaming, and looking at the trees and greenery all around.
