Boundary Wall, Agrasen Ki Baoli

I truly believe that Delhi is one of the very few cities across the world, where you can spot a part of history in the centre of the urban hub. This is the boundary wall of the Agrasen Ki Baoli (Baoli is well) in the heart of Connaught Place. I could not go inside since the caretaker had decided to call it a day and locked the gates and left for his home at just 3 in the afternoon, although his time to leave is at 5 30 in the evening. Anyhow, not one to give up easily, I will try to make it to the baoli some other day, soon. For now I bring to you the boundary wall.

You are right. It looks so historic straight away and so much prettier than anything modern.

That's fascinating. I love the stonework and I'll be looking forward to your photos from inside.

I will be waiting to see more photos. I wonder if the people that pay the caretaker know he leaves early? And if so, does he still get paid for working till 5:30?

I had a lady that use to work in the office with me, she came in late, left early and would write down the correct time for arriving and leaving on her sign in and out sheet, as though she arrived on time and left on time. Boss never called her about it, but when an opening became available in the other building, he made sure she got the job. So since I no longer work there, I'm wondering if she does the same thing in the other building. I've heard they want to get time cards that have to be run through a clock like machine to stamp the time in and time out. I say that sounds great to me. Because in my opinion, she was cheating the school, by collecting money for time she didn't work. I guess this has always been one of my pet peeves. People who don't seem concerned if they are late getting to work or leaving work early unless they have a doctor's appointment. Well I'[ll get off my soap box now. LOL
