It Hapens Only In India

Well, maybe it happens elsewhere in the world, but I like to believe that we are the only country in the world to have a traffic jam because an elephant was in the mood for some leaves. While most of the other drivers on the road were agitated by this one-off episode, I had a gala time looking at one of my favourite animals in full majestic bloom. His highness, did not even seem a tad bit bothered by the honking that we Delhiites are so famous for. :-)

So what is the oddest thing you have ever spotted on your roads?

Guess?

Can anybody guess what the photo shows... The closest guess will find a mention on tomorrow's post and a huge smile from me. :D

300th Post: Child Exploitation

If you thought that remarks over Indian kids starting young were mere jokes and said in jest. You were wrong! This is a proof of how a child as young as a year-old is working in MNC office in Delhi.

Jokes apart, this is Chiya, daughter of my colleague Anuja. Anuja had brought her daughter to office on her day off to help us relieve our stress. And she is definitely a stress buster.

How Rude!

This is one sign that the rebellion in me hates. Its a free world is it not... then why do the authorities have this urge to direct the movement of the citizens or visitors. Hmmmmm...

The real reason I clicked the photo at India Gate is because I thought the little rhinoceros was cute... :-)

Daily Scene - Subzi Mandi

This is the daily scene at the Subzi Mandi or vegetable market near my home. Every evening, the vegetable sellers set shop at the footpath and people, coming back from work, throng the little market to buy fresh vegetables of their choice.

City Hospital

This is the City Hospital! Believe it or not we have a hospital which is named 'City Hospital'. I always thought that only Ekta Kapoor could come up with something as basic as this... but then as Ghalib had said "Ek dhoondho hazaar milte hain". I was rolling on the floor laughing at this one. I know the joke would fail on most of you but some ardent fans of Ekta Kapoor serials would know what I am alking about.

Black And White Window Meeting

The Pomeranian dog,my neighbour's pet Bittoo, was engaged in a meeting with the colony crow (whom we have not christened so far). I believe the talks ended in a stalemate after the two parties barked and crowed respectively till their humans were wide awake.

P.S: Do suggest a suitable name for Mr Crow. Apparently he just has a last name and no first name. :-)

Dismantled Mannequins

A set of dismantled mannequins always catch my eye. This range of legs, torso and busts were hiding in a shop in Karol Bagh. I had to explain to a bunch of salesmen that the clothes they had on sale did not impress me much, but it was this arrangement of mannequin's parts that caught my eye.
