Theme Day: Paths and Passages: Qutb Minar

This is the derelict adjacent to the Qutb Minar. This passage is a pillared shade that the dignitaries used to protect themselves from the scorching summer sun, while visiting the minaret. Paths and passages from around the world await your visit. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

This is a great choice.Majestically beautiful. Wonderful colours and beautiful colours to the stone.

I like the idea of a passage to get under and out of the sun. The high ceiling is a place for the heat to soak up to and I would guess allow cooler air, such as it is, to float where the people were walking. Nice photo.

I wrote in my Memories blog about the roads of my youth and how they were to travel in the winter time.

I think it's beautiful! Even if it's no longer in use, I hope they never tear it down. Happy Theme Day!
