Bouquet Base

Wow. These are very nice. I have not seen anything like this before. I am sure they are all made by hand. What kind of wood do they use?

Well this base of the bouquet can also be used for sitting purpose ...only we need to cover on one end. Its called a moorah in our side. And beleive me we have some of the most artistic moorahs made here ...all from bamboo.

@ Abe: the name of the wood is Thysanolaena maxima. It is found primarily in North East India.

@ jm: Thank you so much :-)

@ Nitu: I lvoe to sit on Moorahs. They are much better than chairs. :-) However, these are way too small to become moorahs. These are the base on which flower arrangements are made and sold.

@ Kris: Skilled labour churns out thousands of these in an hour.
