Jet-Age Station

I am back with my favorite muse from Delhi- the Metro station. So far I have shown you Rajiv Chowk, Delhi Metro construction site and the view inside the trains. This time I present an above the ground station... This particular photo reminds me of the cartoon show called Jetsons because of the very futuristic architecture of the station. The metro rails ply on an overhead bridge in some parts of the city and then go underground from that level. The ride is fun, especially looking out of the huge windows is a great experience. :-)

I like the ultramodern look of this metro station ... When was the metro mass rapid transit system built?

It looks a little like a monorail from this angle.

I was in total awe when I saw the metro for the first time, some 2 years ago.
Have they extended it into the South Delhi area yet?
