I always appreciate a little effort by people to spruce up their work place. I was glad to see this window treatment by my mother at her office. An orange chart paper to block the sun and greeting cards hung on the blinds make her office a little more welcoming and warm :-)

Khan Chacha
A paradise for non-vegetarians, Khan Chacha is must visit if you love kababs and live for chikken tikkas. I am a vegetarian but went to this eating joint, in Khan market with my colleagues. The choices for vegetarians are limited to paneer (cottage cheese) and potatoes. Meanwhile, the non-vegetarians are spoilt for choices as Khan Chacha is famous for its Kakori wrap, Chikken Tikka wrap etc. (sorry don't remember the menu, mainly because I will never be having it :-))
The FIFA fever has hit Delhi big time and this eatery was no different. The order placing window was decorated with stickers of various teams, the world cup trophy etc.
The seating is basic and ensures that nothing distracts the foodies from the aroma and the taste of the food.
Since, the food did not appeal much to my taste buds, I passed my time by looking around and this unusual chandelier caught my fancy. The conversation at our lunch table concentrated on various ways this could be used. Most of the uses we came up with could make for very interesting plots for detective series on TV.

Kunzum Travel Cafe
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the opening of the Kunzum Travel Cafe. Came to know about the opening through my twitter timeline. Spread the word and one of my friends showed interest in going to the cafe, which is nestled in South Delhi's Hauz Khas Village.
The cafe opened its door to travel enthusiasts with a live gig by 'Beyond the Barriers’ – an alternative rock band. I heard the band play Bob Dylan's 'Knocking on Heaven's Door' and a composition of their own. The music was good and very much in-sync with the spirit of the cafe.
The walls of the cafe display a beautiful collection of travel photographs from various parts of India.
I especially liked the idea of the owner, Ajay Jain, to invite the visitors to give their own travel photos and he put them on the softboards placed in the cafe.
I brought home not only the memories of a well spent evening but also these three bookmarks (which the visitors were asked to take home for free). Enlarge the photograph below to read the various signboards, Ajay has clicked, on his trips to Leh-Ladakh.

Purana Qila
Since rains had blessed us in Delhi over the last week, we were optimistic enough to believe that the good luck will continue and our Twitter photo-group -Clickerati decided to visit Purana Qila. Purana in Hindi means Old and Qila means Fort. This is the old fort, and dates back to the time of Mahabharata. Afghan ruler Sher Shah had added to the structures of the fort after he invaded India and made Delhi his capital.
The sun was in its full glory and clouds it seemed had gone on a vacation. Braving the sun, we took our cameras and began clicking our subject.
The ruins of Purana Qila have a romance about them, as they are located at the centre of the ever busy city- Delhi. These are an epitome of calmness and stillness.

Some segments of the fort have been restored and now look as good as new. This minaret caught my eye and I imagined Rapunzel letting her hair down.

There is a mosque within the fort and I had one of the Clickerati members-Devna, pose for me as I tried to capture the reflection of the mosque in her sunglasses.
I will be posting more photographs from the Purana Qila soon. :-)
