Since rains had blessed us in Delhi over the last week, we were optimistic enough to believe that the good luck will continue and our Twitter photo-group -Clickerati decided to visit Purana Qila. Purana in Hindi means Old and Qila means Fort. This is the old fort, and dates back to the time of Mahabharata. Afghan ruler Sher Shah had added to the structures of the fort after he invaded India and made Delhi his capital.
The sun was in its full glory and clouds it seemed had gone on a vacation. Braving the sun, we took our cameras and began clicking our subject.
The ruins of Purana Qila have a romance about them, as they are located at the centre of the ever busy city- Delhi. These are an epitome of calmness and stillness.
Some segments of the fort have been restored and now look as good as new. This minaret caught my eye and I imagined Rapunzel letting her hair down.
There is a mosque within the fort and I had one of the Clickerati members-Devna, pose for me as I tried to capture the reflection of the mosque in her sunglasses.I will be posting more photographs from the Purana Qila soon. :-)
