Green House

Delhi is a green city and just to prove that here is a picture taken of an old house near my office. I have not edited or used any different settings for this photograph. Just a plain point and shoot got me this photograph. Just a pure evidence that my city is actually very green.

Does this make you green with envy? :-)

Official Visitors

We had some very important visitors at office on Friday. They stayed for a while, looked around curiously and when realised that we do not deal in bananas but make books, were disappointed and decided to leave. Rumour has it, that they threatened the senior management to keep a ready stock of bananas the next time they came knocking!

Who said work is boring!

Thought of giving you a better view of Krishi Bhawan, where the Agriculture Ministry of India sits. To see the previous posts featuring Krishi Bhawan click here.

Brighten up your office space

I always appreciate a little effort by people to spruce up their work place. I was glad to see this window treatment by my mother at her office. An orange chart paper to block the sun and greeting cards hung on the blinds make her office a little more welcoming and warm :-)

June Theme Day: Funny Signs: Office Humour

I think this sign is a very funny one, especially when tacked up on the office board. Yours truly has a wicked sense of humour and has put up this sign on her work-station. :-) A Happy June to all :-)

Pride of my desk

After my stint at making pen-holders for my office desk, this is the pen holder I finally bought and decided to take to office. Love the woman with hallow eyes, bindi and ear-rings. :-)

Bye To NLI

This is the most colorful part in my office, NLI. This is the corner of my desk, which I have decorated over a period of almost two years. Today, I say goodbye to the firm, where I spent two of the best years of my professional life so far. But I am sure I will continue to remain friends with the people I met here in this office. A big hurray to Amitabh, Yamini, Mili, Anjana, Charu, Richa, Biswarup, Pavan, Tanweer, Pallavi, Deepak and especially to Aditi, the kiddo. :-)

Thank you all for all the support, concern and friendship you have showered upon me. May we continue to be friends always. Will miss you all loads.

Catty Affair

Did I tell you that Delhiites are a considerate lot? In case I forgot, I have photographic proof this time around. Here are two of my very good friends (also my colleagues) feeding a stray kitten on the office terrace. Two kittens made the terrace of our office their home recently. Everyone in office has taken to them and talk of the animals as one of the esteemed members of the staff. We are worried about their food, milk and shelter often. Here, Anjana (in black sweater) and Aditi (in the maroon pull-over) are feeding Black-n-White (we are innovative name givers :-)) some biscuit crumbs.

Dirt Art

Once a doodler, always a doodler. This is a sketch which I spotted on one of the dust laden water drums on the terrace of my office. I have no idea, who did this. But could identify with the person who would have had had a dirty finger after drawing this masterpiece, since I have been known to doing something similar on the dew laden windows of my car. Will bring my masterpiece some other time. Until then enjoy the Dirt-Art!

Diwali In Delhi

Happy Diwali to everyone across the globe. May the festival of lights brighten all our lives and bring prosperty to everyone.

There were no celebrations in our house this time, since my paternal grandfather passed away recently. No festivals will be celebrated in our house for the whole of this year.

The city however was as usual in its festive best.

300th Post: Child Exploitation

If you thought that remarks over Indian kids starting young were mere jokes and said in jest. You were wrong! This is a proof of how a child as young as a year-old is working in MNC office in Delhi.

Jokes apart, this is Chiya, daughter of my colleague Anuja. Anuja had brought her daughter to office on her day off to help us relieve our stress. And she is definitely a stress buster.
