Delhi cast its vote today

The people of Delhi cast their vote today in the 2014 General Elections. Once the process of voting is through and results are announced in May 2014 India will have a new government. I hope Delhi voted for a change and for a better India.

Here is a photograph of the hands of my family members after we cast our votes.

In the evening my mom and I went for a drive. I saw the Indian flag, a symbol of the country and the government, flutter proudly in the Central Park in Connaught Place.

The dramatic evening sky encouraged me to click some more!

Blue-Green Magic Morning

I love the combination of a good, clear, blue sky and lush green trees. Was happy to see this at the Lodi Gardens where morning joggers were in full force.

Valley of Dreams

I am sure that this place--the valley between these trees--where colourful dreams are made. Every evening, the dream weavers choose the choicest of colours and create masterpieces. It is up to us to make the dream come true or just enjoy the break the dream gives us from the grind of life.

The fact is that with Delhi skies turning beautiful in the evening are a clear signal that October is round the corner, bringing with it the romance of autumn :-)

Blushing Sky

Wonder what the earth said that made the sky blush. :-)

Delhi Roads

This is the reason I love Delhi so much. The beautiful roads lined with lush green trees on both sides making a canopy, with the sky peeking a little. Did I forgot to tell you that I love Delhi!

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”

The colour yesterday was grey bordering on pitch black. There was finally some rain... but I am hoping for more. Send the rains To Delhi, if its pouring at your place. Please. :-)

When in doubt look upwards!

"When in doubt look upwards!", My teacher in kindergarten used to say. Her words, I had then thought meant to look at her as she was seemed very tall to me then. Later, we realised she meant to look towards the heaven (traditionally it is supposed to be at a height, I am told). But I took the saying to another level, as I was trying to pick up a photo for today. This is the Delhi sky (in sepia tones) as of yesterday evening at 6. We had some rains yesterday. Thankfully they brought the temperatures down but today the resulting humidity is not getting us Delhiites in a better mood. Hope the rain comes again. Soon

Picture Perfect

A dramatic sky is always a treat for the eye and the camera. I loved the way the sun was looking just minutes before setting yesterday. It was a task to stop the car bang in the middle of the flyover and click the photograph amidst loud honking from the passengers behind me. But all the bad stares, the looks and the loud obnoxious horns... were all worth it.

Let Your Imagination Run Wild

As children, cloud-watching was one of the most entertaining pass time. A bunch of friends would sit for hours weaving stories from the characters we thought we saw in the clouds. What do you think these clouds are?

Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining

I don't know about every cloud but this one sure has one. This is how the Delhi sky looked yesterday. Today is a different matter altogether with the Sun shining brightly upon us once again. :-)

Let each day be your masterpiece.

If this sky is not a masterpiece then I don't know what can be termed as one. Have a great start to the weekend. :-)
