Textures

I'd like to believe that some people see in textures. I know scientifically, one is supposed to touch to recognize textures. But there are times when I see in textures. Here are some of the textures that caught my eye during my recent visits to the India Habitat Centre.

Psychedelic Art

After lights, water took my fancy. I forced my mother to assist me and together both of us created a storm in a bowl and the end result were these psychedelic photographs.

Last Batch of 2011 Photographs: Landscapes of Bharatpur

A very Happy New Year to everyone. I had gone to Pune for a week-long vacation just as 2011 breathed its last. Since I'm still left with the last batch of photographs from Bharatpur, I decided to show them to you before I begin 2012 on my blog. Hope you all enjoyed welcoming the New Year. I certainly did. More about my trip to Pune in the next post. Here are some photographs of the landscape I took in Bharatpur.

Fountain at Raisina Hill

I was again at the Raisina Hill taking pictures. Fortunately, there weren't many people there and the police were also not in a mood to exhibit their authority and stop photographers from clicking to their heart's content. The fountain was working and the pigeons were having a gala time.

These three were stranded or at least pretended to be stranded for almost 15 minutes.

My city has been under water for almost a week now. Here are some shots I got of the watered city over the past 7 days.

Water Coolers

This is a stack of empty water coolers that I spotted in one of the market areas recently. Supplying cool water to shopkeepers during summers is a thriving business across Delhi. These containers are filled with chilled water and dropped to the market every morning. The shopkeepers leave the empty containers to be collected each morning by the water supplier. The bills for the service are cleared at the end of the month.

Artificial Falls, Talkatora Gardens

These are artificial falls at Talkatora Gardens that have not seen water for several years now. However, this part still is beautiful to me. The blue and the green with the beige of the old cement works as a combination in this one to make it beautiful.

Fountains, Select City Walk Mall

These are the fountains at the Select City Walk mall in South Delhi. This is a high-end mall where you can spot the biggest national and international brands. Personally, I did not like the mall too much as in these times of global financial crisis, it all seemed like a huge waste of money. However, the fountains did cheer me up! :-)
