Rain or Happiness? You decide

Rains always bring with them a feeling of joy. The blast of colours from behind the screens laced with water droplets, caught my attention this Saturday evening as I drove around the city enjoying the rains that came early to Delhi this year.

This young boy and his enigmatic smile left me warm and smiling. He was selling gajras (small flower strings usually worn by women in their hair) on one of the busiest traffic signals of Delhi. With the rains bringing the temperatures down considerably, he was busy singing and splashing water in a huge pothole in the middle of the road. When he caught my eye, looking at him and smiling, he rushed to my window, smiled his big happy smile and asked me to click his photograph. After I obliged he asked me to buy some gajras as well. I, of course, could not say no to that smile. So I came home with the fragrance of rain infused with the fragrance of the white flowers.

Depaul's, Janpath

OK! I can't beleive that over a year of Delhi Photo Diary and I have never shown my favourite hangout place - Depaul's to you. This is the place where all, and I mean ALL, college goers have gone at least once to have cold coffee. This is a small coffee shop in Janpath. We have been going to this place for over 10 years now. This is one of the most cherished place of our college lives. The cold coffee at this place is sweet, milky and so yum that the best of cafe's cannot compete with it.

Pink!

A pink lamp. If you think its too girly... I'll agree with you. I think the reason I clicked this photo, despite my friends jeering at me, is because i like pink and girly stuff. Its always nice to see a little touch of feminity here and there, I believe. This lamp takes its place proudly in the Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) outlet at Janpath.

Sunrise, Talkatora Gardens

A bright and beautiful sunrise at the Talkatora Gardens, I clicked early morning today, after the rains stopped. Just after the rain, the weather was chilly... but with sun up in the sky now... it is just nice and pleasant enough to curl in bed with a steaming cup of coffee and a good book, with Frank Sinatra, Kishore Kumar or Manna Dey crooning away to glory.

Barista Umbrellas, Select City Walk

My obsession with coffee continues. This is the top view of one of the Barista outlets in Saket City Walk mall. The best part of having coffee here was the nice cool weather and the steamy cappuccino romancing each other under the bright red coloured umbrellas.
