Sprucing up Delhi for XIX Commonwealth Games
A Delhiite knows something big is round the corner, when we see India Gate being cleaned. This huge mesh of iron rods has been created to clean the nook and crevices of the monument that rests in the centre of Delhi to ready is before the XIX Commonwealth Games. I had visited the India Gate lawns yesterday with my family to enjoy the Monsoon showers . I was not the only one, it seemed the whole city had decided to go to India Gate, walk in the rain and have ice-cream. It was an evening spent well. :-)

I remember well the India Gate from a visit in 1986, which seems like only yesterday! I'd like to see it now, all spruced up. Sounds like a fun family outing for many Indians over the weekend.
It will be even more magnificent when it's finished! Fun to see the photo since I visited it in March 2009!
I can't believe how you've made even the scaffolding look good! ;)
ye INDIA GATE ke saath kya kar rahe hain?
Love the way you took this shot...it's just beautiful !!!!
Delhi, right now, is like this huge construction site masquerading as the nation's capital!
