Giant Umbrella

This is a giant umbrella with appliqué work, a speciality of the craftsmen of Orissa that I spotted in Dilli Haat. It is made of cloth, so it will not be able to protect you from rain. It is too heavy to carry around in summers to protect yourself from shade. It is an elaborate showpiece that many connoisseurs like to collect. The work on the umbrella is traditionally Indian with elephant motifs on it.
