Roadside View: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium

This is the roadside view of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which is being readied to host the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi in the month of October.

Delhi at this moment looks like a war zone. It is dug up all over the place and driving is an exercise that leaves most exhausted at the end of the day. Hopefully things will improve in the coming month and the city I love will be at its beautiful best to host the athletes of the Commonwealth Nations.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

After clicking this photo, I was sure that the nursery rhyme, Twinkle twinkle little star had been written about the Sun! I am posting this photograph in an attempt to lure the nearest star to the Earth to come and shine on Delhi. The grey skies and continuous rains are depressing me now.

Bumpy ride, anyone?

This is a wooden, multiple-bump camel standing tall at the entrance of the Cottage Industries Emporium in Janpath, Connaught Place. I cannot say much about its strength, but one thing is certain that the ride on this wooden sculpture would be a bumpy one!
